The ‘Country House’ is situated on my client’s family farm which had been rented to farm hands for generations. By all standards, this is the quintessential farmhouse, a model of simplicity which is irresistibly charming. When my clients married, this fixer-upper was their dream home for starting a family. As an added bonus the old barn on the property stored a collection of old wood beams which we integrated into the new design.

It was a few years later, as their family was growing, my clients decided to purchase an old brick house in the city to be closer to work and schools in the wintertime. Although the city home was more formal in design, they wanted to create a similar vibe to the farmhouse which remains their weekend and summer get-away.
