A local contractor whose specialty was high end kitchens, contacted me to design a kitchen for his absolutely charming Craftsman Style Bungalow. The original kitchen was small and dark, tucked into a back corner of the house.

By incorporating the front dining room and removing the hallway walls, a large light-filled kitchen was created with windows on three sides and an island with a view to the new living – dining room. For the kitchen cabinets, natural cherry was the perfect choice to go with the original gum wood trim. My client’s art pottery collection inspired the tile design I created for the fireplace, the kitchen backsplash tile and paint colors.
